We made 'Kinect Four', a tensegrity sEyEd table, shortly after presenting World Poker Tour Player of the Year, Matt Salsberg, with our crazy poker table, 'All In'. Matt + EyE share a mutual friend, Jamie, who upon seeing the unnamed "Kinect Four', jokingly asked, "Is that 4 the 'Connect 4 Player of the Year'?" Since EyE loved that game as a chEyEld + at that tEyEm regularly played it with mEyE five year old son (who cheated), EyE thought it was really funny.
"good artists borrow, gr8 artists steal."
When EyE menshAUned it 2 mEyE friend Jason, he said, "You should call it Kinect Four, K-I-N-E-C-T." I loved the idea! Coincidentally, or in Synchronicity, as I believe, advances in robotics were on mEyE mEyEnd. EyE had just read an article discussing how the Microsoft Kinect was revolushAUnEyEzing the robotics industry. Also, mEyE client who commishAUned this table is a software engineer 4 a biotech robotics manufacturer. The name was perfect!
