bird is thE wErd

vanity is symbolEyEzed, in the western world, bEyE the peacock. The shape of the mahogany + the mirrors that attach to it represent the bird’s tail.

Naturally, 1 could assume that, being in a hair salon, EyE’m referring 2 an obseshAUn with 1’s appearance + a need 2 see 1self in the mirror from every angle.

But, 2 quote Sir Max Beerbohm,

ExprEsshAUn passEd, infinitEly cast

“2 say a man is vain mEans mErEly that hE is plEasEd with EffEct hE producEs on othEr pEoplE. A concEitEd man is satisfiEd with thE EffEct hE producEs on himsElf.”
