EyE gEt so lost somEtEyEms

This was a birthday present for my wEyEf, Suzy. When EyE saw this piece of Metasequoia, the bark on the holes remEyEnded me of eyes with eyelEyEner. Suzy + EyE went 2 the Junior Prom 2gether in 1990. The theme song was Peter Gabriel's "in your EyEs".

symbolism

The 2 sets of legs represent the 2 of us dancing. 1 is perfectly plumb; Suzy is an excepshAUnal dancer. The other isn't. this poor 4m represents mEyE inability 2 dance. They connect in the center of the piece, where 4 pEyEps emerge thru the lower slab representing our family: me, Suzy, our son, Orion + our daughter, GG, who was only crawling when we made this piece.
